Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], October 28 (ANI): In an interview with ANI on Monday, a BJP candidate expressed confidence in winning the election, citing the support and love received from the constituency. BJP candidate from Jamtara assembly seat Sita Soren files nomination on Monday.
“The way I received the love in the constituency, probably if the ticket would have been given to another candidate – the people wouldn’t have this much excited. I am getting ample support from the people. Irfan Ansari, who later became the minister – people are terror-stricken by him and they need change, especially the tribal people… All the people from the community are standing firm with me and there is no competition here…” she said.
BJP candidate Sita Soren, further hit out at Congress leader Irfan Ansari and demanded to expel him from the party, accusing him of humiliating the tribal women and the community.
“The way he oppresses and demeans all women has become a habit for him and he included me in this behavior as well The derogatory remarks he made are not only offensive to me but to women across all communities. Protests were held against him even outside his residence Such a legislator should be expelled from his party I cannot understand how he was even given a ticket” she said.
Seeta soren a prominent tribal leader and the daughter-in-law of Shibu Soren voiced her determination to protect her community and address their grievances.
“The issues here are well-known. People are exhausted by the intimidation of the INDIA alliance MLA, Irfan Ansari, and they seek change, especially the tribal communities, who have been compelled to vote under pressure. For a long time, tribal women have been used politically, but now I, a tribal woman from an activist family, am here to stand with them. My father-in-law, Shibu Soren, started the movement from Jamtara itself. This is our land, our place, which had been occupied temporarily,” she said.
In addition, Soren expressed her concerns about the demographic shifts in the Jharkhand, attributing them to government neglect to persisting issues.
‘The government has been silent on this issue, despite our repeated queries. It’s their responsibility to address the concerns of our community, especially when it comes to sensitive topics like ‘Love Jihad’ and ‘Land Jihad.’ The government’s inaction has emboldened those who seek to exploit and manipulate our people. If we want to protect the rights and dignity of our tribals, we need to demand action from our leaders. It’s time for the government to take concrete steps to address these issues and ensure justice for our community. Otherwise, the equity of the tribals would be erased. If we want to save the tribals, then it is necessary to bring BJP.”
Meanwhile, Elections are being held on 81 seats of the Jharkhand assembly in two phases on November 13 and November 20. A total of 2.60 crore voters are eligible to cast votes in Jharkhand and there are 1.31 crore male and 1.29 crore female voters. The state has 11.84 lakh first-time voters and there are 66.84 lakh young voters. (ANI)
