Patna (Bihar) [India], July 21 (ANI): Union Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, said on Sunday that the silent sacrifice and spirit of patriotism among the women of soldiers’ families would continue to inspire courage and patriotism among future generations.
He was speaking at a Veer Nari Samman Ceremony organised in Patna on the occasion of silver jubilee of Kargil Vijay Diwas on Sunday.
“Terming brave women of the families of the soldiers as the source of inspiration, Union Minister of State for Defence noted that the courage, determination, silent sacrifice and spirit of patriotism of these women would continue to inspire courage and patriotism among the future generations,” as per a press release from the Ministry of Defence.
Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth today reiterated the Government’s commitment for the welfare of soldiers, veterans and their families. He was speaking at a Veer Nari Samman Ceremony organised in Patna on the occasion of silver jubilee of Kargil Vijay Diwas on 21 July, 2024, as per the Ministry of Defence release.
“Sanjay Seth said that in today’s digital age, the government is making efforts so that the benefits of welfare schemes reach them in real time and no-one remains deprived of such measures,” as per the release.
As per the release, the Union Minister of State for Defence paid rich tributes to all those brave men who laid down their lives for this country in the Kargil War, and saluted the brave mothers who gave birth to those brave sons who made the supreme sacrifice for the Nation.
Kargil Vijay Diwas, observed annually on July 26 in India, commemorates the victory of Operation Vijay in 1999. This event marks the conclusion of the Kargil War between India and Pakistan, which began in May 1999.
During this conflict, Indian forces successfully reclaimed strategic positions in the Kargil sector of Jammu and Kashmir that had been infiltrated by Pakistani soldiers and terrorists.
The day honours the courage of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in defence of the nation and celebrates the determination and strength of the Indian armed forces. Kargil Vijay Diwas serves as a tribute to their sacrifices and reaffirms the nation’s commitment to protecting its sovereignty and integrity. (ANI)
