New Delhi [India], September 4 (ANI): The Rouse Avenue Court has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to release the SUV belonging to Manuj Kathuria, an accused in the Old Rajender Nagar deaths case.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Nishant Garg ordered the Investigation Officer (IO) of the CBI to complete the necessary formalities, obtain a valuation report, and release the vehicle to Kathuria. The court also instructed Kathuria to file a security bond as per the valuation report, as deemed satisfactory by the IO.
The court’s directive comes after considering the status report filed by the CBI’s IO, which stated that the vehicle was inspected by a Motor Vehicle Inspector on August 30.
The CBI had earlier filed a status report on August 28, informing the court that the vehicle and the building’s gate had been inspected by a team of professors from IIT Delhi.
Kathuria’s vehicle is in the custody of the CBI. He was driving the vehicle at the time incident. He was granted bail by the trial court.
CBI’s public prosecutor had sought time for inspection of the vehicle by the motor vehicle inspector (MVI).
It was stated in the report that the vehicle and gate of the building have been inspected by the team of professors of IIT Delhi. Now it is to be inspected by the Motor Vehicle Inspector.
Earlier, the court had directed the CBI to get the vehicle inspected by the experts.
Manuj Kathuria moved a plea for the release of his SUV from the custody of CBI. His vehicle is parked at Rajender Nagar Police Station.
Kathuria is on bail in the case related to the drowning of three UPSC aspirants in the basement of a Coaching institute in old Rajender Nagar on July 27. (ANI)
