Sindhudurg (Maharashtra) [India], November 20 (ANI): Targeting Shiv Sena (UBT) Uddhav Thackeray, BJP MP Narayan Rane said on Wednesday that he left the Shiv Sena (undivided) because of Uddhav and he is not going to get more than 10-12 seats in the Maharashtra Assembly election.
Speaking to ANI, Rane emphasized that whatever he is, it is because of Balasaheb Thackeray.
“I left Shiv Sena because of Uddhav Thackeray. His thoughts are not good. They are not going to get more than 10-12 seats. 161 MLAs of Mahayuti are going to win and then the alliance of BJP, NCP and Shiv Sena will come to power,” he said.
Reacting to the ‘cash for vote’ allegation against BJP leader Vinod Tawde, Narayan Rane said that Tawde is a senior leader and this should not have happened.
“Whatever happened with Vinod Tawde was not right. He is a senior leader, this should not have happened,” the BJP MP said.
Further, exuding confidence in his two sons winning both assembly seats from the Lok Sabha constituency from where he is the MP (Sindhudurg), Narayan Rane said, “100 per cent they will win.”
Rane’s son, Nitesh Rane who is aiming a hattrick against Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Sandesh Parkar from Kankavli assembly seat.
From Kudal seat, Nilesh Rane is against Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Vaibhav Naik.
Meanwhile, a voter turnout of 18.14 per cent was recorded till 11 am in the single-phase assembly elections in Maharashtra.
The primary contest is between the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance and the Congress-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).
The ruling BJP-led Mahayuti alliance includes the BJP, Shiv Sena, and the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction), while the opposition MVA comprises the Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction).
In the 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections, the BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena secured 56, and the Congress won 44. In 2014, the BJP claimed 122 seats, Shiv Sena 63, and the Congress 42. (ANI)
