Kullu (Himachal Pradesh) [India], December 8 (ANI): Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur said on Sunday that they will go among the public as the Congress government is Himachal Pradesh is about to complete two years in power.
The BJP leader alleged that the Congress government has not delivered on the development front during its two years. He also said that the BJP will oppose the Congress government’s plan to celebrate two years in office.
“The 2-year term of the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh is going to be completed on December 11. Suddenly the news comes that the government will celebrate the completion of 2 years of term. The whole state is surprised about this…There should be a reason to celebrate but the state government has done nothing…” Thakur told ANI.
He also said that the Congress party has lost all four seats in Himachal Pradesh during the Lok Sabha elections.
“Is it right to celebrate after 2 years of term?… We (BJP) will go among the public as the state government has not fulfilled the promises that it made to the public of Himachal Pradesh…,” he asked.
Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh Minister Vikramaditya Singh on Friday said that employment generation is one of the top priorities of the Congress government in the state.
“Our Chief Minister has put so much emphasis on certain things – like strengthening rural economy – to bring white revolution – especially for women… Employment generation is our government’s priority – we have given 31,000 employments in the government sector in the last two years,” Vikramaditya Singh told ANI.
Earlier in the month, Vikramaditya Singh presented a detailed account of the Congress government’s achievements and future plans under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
Reflecting on two years of governance, Singh highlighted key milestones, challenges, and initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable growth, employment generation, and robust infrastructure development in the state. He stated that 31,000 jobs had been created, and additional revenue of Rs 2,600 crore had been generated during this period. (ANI)
