Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) [India], January 19 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kailash Vijayvargiya on Sunday said that “criminal activities” by Bangladeshi people are a matter of concern.
This comes after Mumbai Police said that the man arrested for allegedly attacking Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is suspected to be a Bangladeshi national.
Speaking to reporters, Vijayvargiya said that necessary action needs to be taken on this situation.
He further alleged that several Bangladeshis are being “smuggled” into India by the West Bengal government
Kailash Vijayvargiya said, “This is a matter of concern. Many Bangladeshis are being smuggled into India by the Bengal government. Their Aadhar cards are being made in Hindu names. After coming here, they are committing crimes. Right now cybercrime is increasing, which is being committed by the people of Bangladesh. Criminal activities by Bangladeshi people are a matter of concern. The government has taken a strict decision on this… Necessary action needs to be taken on this.”
Earlier today, Mumbai Police said that a man suspected to be a Bangladeshi national has been arrested for allegedly attacking actor Saif Ali Khan at his residence. The accused has been identified as Mohd Shariful Islam Shehzad (31).
“There is preliminary evidence to suggest that the accused is a Bangladeshi. He does not have valid Indian documents. Some items seized indicate that he is a Bangladeshi national,” Dixit Gedam, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone 9, said during a press conference.
According to the police, the accused entered the residence of the renowned actor with the intent to commit theft. The incident occurred around 2:00 AM on January 16, during which Saif Ali Khan was attacked and sustained serious injuries, including stab wounds to his thoracic spine. (ANI)
