New Delhi [India], November 12 (ANI): BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Tuesday criticised Congress’s national president, Mallikarjun Kharge and his party for insulting Indian culture, further highlighting that BJP has given a big blow to terrorists, corrupt people, fraudsters, and extortionists.
“Mallikarjun Khargeis insulting Indian culture, its symbols like the saffron colour, and things that represent Indian honour. The BJP has dealt a blow to terrorism, extremism, separatism, communalism, extortion, corruption, and other forms of misconduct. It is unclear what kind of relationship Congress has with those involved in such activities. What is this relationship called? Why is Congress so agitated when action is taken against them?” he said while speaking with ANI.
This comes after Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge took a jibe at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath without taking his name and said that many of the leaders live in the guise of sadhus and have now become politicians and some have even become chief ministers as well.
Kharge was targeting Yogi Adityanath who is also the head priest of Gorakhnath Math in Gorakhpur.
On Sunday, Speaking at the Samvidhan Bachao Sammelan’, the Congress President also slammed Adityanath for his recent ‘batoge toh katogey’ (If we divide, we will be cut), a slogan calling for Hindu unity, and accused him (Yogi) of spreading hatred.
“Many leaders live in the guise of sadhus and have now become politicians. Some have even become chief ministers. They wear ‘gerua’ clothes and have no hair on their heads…I would say to the BJP, either wear white clothes or if you are a sanyasi wear ‘gerua’ clothes, then get out of politics. On the one hand, you wear ‘gerua’ clothes and on the other hand, you say ‘batoge toh katogey’…They are spreading hatred among the people and trying to divide them…,” Kharge said.
Talking about the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s statement made in the US about ending reservation for Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe (SC/STs). Tarun Chugh said that Congress has always been involved in conspiracies to divide the nation and society, and continues to do so.
“The Congress has always been involved in conspiracies to divide the nation and society and continues to do so even today. Rahul Gandhi speaks on foreign soil about ending reservations for ST, SC, and OBC communities. Congress’s former Prime Minister and Rahul Gandhi’s father, Shri Rajiv Gandhi, firmly opposed reservations for OBCs in the sacred house of the nation. Whether it was the committee led by Kaka or the Mandal Commission’s report, the recommendations were never allowed to be implemented,” he said.
“Congress has consistently pressured to break the fabric of India, Indian identity, and society. They tried to oppose the election of the first tribal woman President, insulted her, and opposed granting constitutional status to the OBC Commission. These actions show how much venom Congress harbours against SC, ST, and OBC communities,” Chugh further added.
Notably, in September while interacting with students and faculty at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress party would think of scrapping reservations when India becomes a “fair place,” which it is not.
He also reiterated the need to conduct a caste census while saying that 90 per cent of the country’s population — OBCs, Dalits and Adivasis– not having proper representation in the country is the “elephant in the room.”
He further said that the Caste Census is a simple exercise to assess the participation of lower castes, backward castes, and Dalits since independence.
Being asked about his stand on the reservation, Rahul Gandhi said that the Dalits, Adivasis and OBC communities are still not participating in the system, adding that India is not a “fair place.” (ANI)
