Los Angeles [US], March 4 (ANI): Songwriter Diane Warren faced disappointment once again at the Oscars, losing a gold statuette for best original song for ‘Journey’ to ‘El Mal’ from ‘Emilia Perez’.
The loss marked her 16th time being snubbed for the Academy Award, but it didn’t deter her spirit.
Speaking to Variety, Diane said, “I’m consistent as f**k…You know, it is what it is. I’m happy to be here.”
She added, “I’m the Terminator of the Oscars — I’ll be back. That’s in my Arnold Schwarzenegger voice. I’m coming back. You can’t get rid of me.”
Diane said she will get back to work on Monday morning. “This isn’t going to slow me down…I thought I had a chance this time. It didn’t go that way, but I’m still here.” She was honoured with an honorary Oscar, presented by Cher, at the Governors Awards in 2022.
The 97th Academy Awards were held in Los Angeles, Hollywood, California on Sunday. ‘Anora’ emerged as the night’s big winner, taking home five Academy Awards, including the coveted Best Picture award.
The film, directed by Sean Baker, also won awards for Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Editing, and Best Actress for Mikey Madison.
Adrien Brody took home the Oscar for Best Actor at the 2025 Academy Awards, triumphing over a talented group of nominees, including Timothee Chalamet for A Complete Unknown, Sebastian Stan for The Apprentice, Colman Domingo for Sing Sing, and Ralph Fiennes for Conclave.
Walter Salles’ directorial ‘I’m Still Here’ won the Best International Feature Film Oscar on Sunday, marking the first time that a Brazilian entry has won in the category. (ANI)
