Washington DC [US], April 9 (ANI): Actor Alan Cumming will be reprising his role of Nightcrawler from X Men 2 in the upcoming Marvel film ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. The actor revealed that he has already started the preparation for his iconic superhero role in the film, reported Deadline.
During an interview on NBC’s Today, as quoted by the Deadline, the Traitors US show host, Cumming, shared that he has already went through some makeup tests for his Nightcrawler’s role in the upcoming Marvel film.
“It’s 23 years since I was a superhero. I had some makeup tests already,” said Cumming in an interview as quoted by Deadline.
The ‘Prague’ actor also highlighted the changes in the makeup transformation since starring in 2003’s X2, making it easier to play the character.
“Actually, what’s great about it, it was four and a half to five hours before, and now it was 90 minutes,” he said, before explaining that “before all the tattoos were done by hand because they hadn’t decided on them before we started filming and now there are all these little things that stick on — it’s a game changer,” said Cumming as quoted by Deadline.
“I’m going back to being a 60-year-old superhero, and everyone seems really lovely,” he added.
According to Deadline, the actor also revealed that he would soon start shooting the film in London.
Cumming played the comic book role in 2003’s X2: X-Men United and had not played it since. The actor will also reunite in the new Avengers movie with his co-stars, including Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier / Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), and James Marsden (Cyclops).
