With the monsoon becoming fully active in Uttar Pradesh, the water level of rivers has started rising and flood situations have arisen in many areas of Kushinagar, Balrampur, Pilibhit, Lakhimpur and Shravasti districts.
“The state government is continuing relief material and rescue work in the flood-affected areas. People trapped in flood-affected areas are being rescued and brought to safe places and the officials have been ordered to provide relief material and rescue work,” Pathak said.
Regarding the arrangements in the flood-affected areas, Pathak said that people trapped in flood-affected areas are being rescued and brought to safe places and the officials have been ordered to provide relief material and rescue work.
“Many parts of the state have been affected due to heavy rains. All the district officials in the flood-affected areas have been instructed to deliver relief materials to the people and make transportation arrangements. Apart from this, wherever there is a possibility of danger, people should be informed immediately and all arrangements should be made,” he added.
Earlier on Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave Rs 4 lakh as assistance to each of the families of four people who lost their lives in the floods.
CM Adityanath also conducted an aerial survey of flood-affected Shravasti and distributed relief material to the people.
Speaking on the flood situation in the area, the Chief Minister said, “On the 6th and 7th of July, Nepal and Uttarakhand received heavy rainfall. This is the first time we have seen floods in this area in the first week of July. We have given Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the four people who lost their lives in the floods.”
