New Delhi [India], October 25 (ANI): After the Chief Justice of India CY Chandrachud stated that he had to stop his morning walks due to the rising level of pollution in the national capital Delhi, Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla on Friday said that the city had become a gas chamber with poisonous air everywhere.
In a self made video, Poonawalla said “News has come that CJI (Dy Chandrachud) has stopped his morning walk due to the spike in air pollution. Delhi has become a gas chamber and poisonous air is everywhere. You cannot even roam around without a mask.”
Further, he attacked the Aam Aadmi Party and said that they were still busy in their blame game.
“AAP is still busy in their blame game, Earlier, they used to blame Punjab. Now, they are blaming firecrackers and states like UP and Haryana, Possibly, they might even blame Isarel and Lebanon for all of this. They will never take responsibility and talk about what they have done for the internal reasons of the pollution in Delhi. The smog towers are also closed. Our citizens here are suffering because of them,” he added.
The national capital Delhi was engulfed in a layer of smog on Friday and the air quality was recorded at 283 at 8 a.m.
As per data recorded at 8:00 am, the AQI at Anand Vihar was recorded as 218, 245 at Punjabi Bagh, 276 at India Gate, 288 at Jhilmil Industrial area.
On October 24, Chief Justice DY Chandrachud had shared his concerns about the rising pollution levels in the city during an informal interaction with journalists at the Supreme Court. He mentioned that his doctor has advised him to avoid morning walks due to the poor air quality, which could lead to respiratory issues. (ANI)
