New Delhi [India], June 24 (ANI): Officers Wives Association of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) office successfully conducted a health camp for 350 contractual employees.
It is a unique welfare initiative under the guidance of Dr Smita Murmu, who is the spouse of the CAG of India, GC Murmu and an active social worker in her own right.
The first phase of the health camp SWASTHYA 2024 was conducted in the month of April and it covered around 400 employees.
The second phase of SWASTHYA 2024 covered the remaining staff of 350 and was conducted from 20th June to 22nd June.
The primary goal of this comprehensive health camp was not only to perform health check-ups but also to instill a sense of health consciousness in employees. By educating them on various health-related issues and the importance of regular screening, it was aimed at empowering the staff with the knowledge necessary to lead healthier lives.
This focus on preventive care and health education highlights the fact that the need of the hour is to not just address but to prevent health issues through awareness.
A comprehensive range of medical services was offered by the doctors of AIIMS hospital during the camp.
Medical experts from the field of ENT, Ophthalmology, Dermatology and General Medicine examined the staff.
Each individual was given a Health Card, with their name, medical history, photo and medication, which will be a useful resource for them in future as well.
The active participation of staff at the health camp highlights the importance of such crucial initiatives.
The closing ceremony, held today, was graced by Director AIIMS, Dr M Srinivas and Dr Sanjeev Sinha, professor in the Department of Medicine at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
They provided a team of medical experts from the fields of ENT, Ophthalmology, Dermatology and Medicine for the three-day health camp.
At the concluding function on Sunday, Dr Smita Murmu, wife of CAG, Girish Chandra Murmu and patron of the IAAOWA, interacted with the doctors and appreciated their dedication towards social work.
She also interacted with the health beneficiaries and heard their experiences.
Dr Murmu has been instrumental in conceptualising, planning, and implementing the health camp for the employees. (ANI)
