Washington [US], February 25 (ANI ): Actor Guy Pearce, who has been nominated in the category of Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Adrien Brody’s The Brutalist at the upcoming Academy Awards, shared who actually would take the prize.
“I’ve been nominated for a few of these awards, and I haven’t won any!” said Pearce, adding, “I’m not gonna win! Kieran [Culkin] will win, again, ” reported People.
At the SAG Awards, Culkin won for outstanding performance by a male actor in a supporting role for A Real Pain, in which he stars with the movie’s writer/director Jesse Eisenberg, reported People.
During his acceptance speech, Culkin noted how “incredibly heavy” the trophy was (and later joked that it was “funny” how his “heaviest of all awards is the one given by actors”), before reminding Brody, 51, of the 45-second “allotted time” for acceptance speeches.
“There was no reason to take that shot; I love you, it’s a joke. You take your time,” Culkin continued, as Brody laughed from his seat in the audience. “Lord knows I will, ’cause I didn’t think of anything,” reported People.
The Oscar nominee Guy Pearce recently, in an interview, also admitted that he didn’t like his performance in Christopher Nolan’s ‘Memento’ which was released in 2000.
The Oscar nominee compared his performance in Nolan’s Memento’ to ‘Nails on a Chalkboard’ and said that he hated his work in the movie.
“I’m having an existential crisis. I watched Memento the other day and I’m still depressed. I’m bad in that movie. I’d never thought that before, but I did this Q&A of Memento earlier this month and decided to actually watch the film again. But while it was playing I realized I hate what I did.”
Guy Pearce was also seen in ‘Iron Man 3’ which starred Robert Downey Jr. in the lead role. (ANI)
