Bikaner (Rajasthan) [India], October 2 (ANI): Following a letter threatening to blow up several railway stations in Rajasthan from the Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed, security has been heightened at railway stations across the state, including Bikaner, on Wednesday.
The terror organisation allegedly threatened to blow up major railway stations in the state on October 30 through the letter. In response to this threat, security forces are on high alert until Diwali.
GRP station officer Neha Rajpurohit and RPF in-charge Subhash Vishnoi, along with their teams and a dog squad, conducted thorough searches throughout the Bikaner station. They checked for suspicious individuals and items in trains arriving from Bikaner, Musafirkhana, and various platforms and circulation areas. Passengers were also advised to stay vigilant.
In-charge of the RPF Police Station Subhash Chandra Vishnoi, speaking to ANI, said, “The luggage of the passengers is being checked at the Bikaner station, and the waiting hall and dustbins of the railway station are being specially checked, in which the help of doctors is being taken.”
“The luggage of the passengers is being checked in the long-distance trains which are coming especially towards Mangal Gagan. Toilets, etc., are being checked to ensure that there is no suspicious object, and along with this, the passengers are also being made aware that if they see any unclaimed luggage around them, they should immediately inform the police and the railway administration so that immediate action can be taken. Checking is being done at every station in Bikaner regarding this, and till now, no such notice has been issued”, Vishnoi added. (ANI)
