Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], September 20 (ANI): Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah hit back at the opposition, asserting that he “never ran the agenda of Pakistan.”
“We supplicated for everyone, including our enemies. That we come out of this trouble. May God bless us in these elections,” he told reporters after offering Friday prayers in Srinagar.
Abdullah said that those levelling allegations against them are running the agenda of Pakistan.
“We never ran the agenda of Pakistan. It is unfortunate. Those who are levelling allegations against us are running the agenda of Pakistan. What should we do about them? Those who are agents of Pakistan are calling us agents,” Farooq, the National Conference President, alleged.
He was responding to Prime Minister Narenda Modi’s speech during a rally in Katra on Thursday.
Addressing a public rally in Katra on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Congress-National Conference wants to implement Pakistan’s agenda in Jammu and Kashmir. “We will not let Pakistan’s agenda be imposed in Jammu and Kashmir. No power in the world can bring back Article 370 in J-K.” PM Modi said.
On Tirupati Prasadam row, he said, “I can’t say anything about Tirupati. People of their religion should look into this. If there is anything like that, it should be investigated, and action should be taken.”
Chandrababu Naidu had alleged that the previous YSR Congress-led government used animal fat in Laddus at Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirupati.
Jammu and Kashmir is voting for its 90-member assembly in three phases. The first phase of voting was held on September 18. The other two rounds will be held on September 25 and October 1. Counting to take place on October 8.
The National Conference and the Congress have formed a pre-poll alliance.
Elections are being held in the Union Territory after a gap of nearly ten years and are the first since the abrogation of Article 370. (ANI)
