Panaji (Goa) [India], September 4 (ANI): The Goa government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) International to establish its skill centre in the state, according to an official statement.
Under this partnership, a minimum of 5,000 Goan youth would receive training annually, which would be specifically geared towards overseas employment, it said.
NSDC International is a 100% subsidiary of the National Skill Development Corporation, under the aegis of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
In the presence of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in Porvorim, the MoU was signed on Tuesday to establish the NSDC International Skill Centre in Goa, the statement said.
The Chief Minister said that this state-of-the-art facility would create a world-class skill development ecosystem and equip the Goan youth with the essential skills and competencies, including foreign languages and specialised domain skills, to thrive on the global stage, the statement said.
Additionally, Sawant said that the centre would also open up international job opportunities in sectors such as hospitality, healthcare, beauty & wellness, IT, construction, etc., as per the statement.
The Chief Minister also expressed certainty that this cutting-edge Skill Centre would empower the youth of Goa with the tools they need to excel globally, paving the way for remarkable job opportunities.
Earlier, on July 30, an MoU was signed between the Maharashtra government and NSDC International Limited to establish a centre for skill-based certificate courses in Pune.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and aims to provide employment opportunities to the youth of the state, both domestically and internationally.
The CMO Maharashtra also took to its official X handle and posted about the signing of the MoU.
It said, “An MoU was signed between the state government and NSDC International Limited in the presence of the Chief Minister Eknath Shinde for setting up a centre for skill-based certificate courses at Pune. This MoU will benefit the youth of the state to get employment opportunities in the country and abroad. NSDC International Limited Company will be provided space at Government Distance Education Tantra Niketan Sanstha in Pune for the training centre.”
Notably, NSDC International Limited conducts skill-based courses in accordance with the employment opportunities announced by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship of the Central Government to provide employment opportunities to the youth of the country. (ANI)
