Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], August 16 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday extended his heartfelt greetings to all the people of the state on the occasion of the folk festival of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, Ghee Sankranti (Gheu Tyaar).
Taking on the social media platform X, the Chief Minister said, “Folk festivals are an important part of our rich heritage and tradition,” and added that he “prays to God that the holy folk festival brings happiness, prosperity, and health into the lives of all of you.”.
Earlier, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami greeted the people of the state on the eve of the 78th Independence Day of the country and also paid tribute to the freedom fighters and soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation, according to an official release.
The Chief Minister said, “It is our resolve to make Uttarakhand the best and leading state of the country in every field. Our efforts are continuing to make Uttarakhand prosperous and self-reliant. Due to favourable industrial policy, a calm industrial environment, skilled human resources, liberal tax benefits and an increase in capital investment, Uttarakhand has become one of the fastest-developing states in India.”
On Thursday, August 15, the Chief Minister paid floral tribute to the mortal remains of Captain Deepak Singh, who laid down his life during an encounter with terrorists in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir. Governor Lt General Gurmeet Singh also paid tribute to the captain at Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun. Captain Singh of the Indian Army was killed in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
“Captain Deepak Rawat’s sacrifice will not go in vain and we will give a befitting reply to our enemies. The whole nation and the people of the state stand with the bereaved family of the captain,” CM Dhami said. (ANI)
