Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], September 16 (ANI): After three wagons of a goods train going from Bhopal to Itarsi, derailed between Misrod and Mandideep railway stations on Monday afternoon, Bhopal DRM (Divisional Railway Manager) Devashish Tripathi said that restoration work is underway and two coaches have been lifted.
He said that the traffic is not affected because the middle and down lines are operational.
Devashish Tripathi said, “NMG (New Modified Goods) Rake which is used to transport vehicles was arriving from Delhi division and heading towards Bengaluru. It derailed when it was passing through Misrod and Mandideep. 3 coaches derailed. Restoration work is underway, we have lifted 2 coaches. The third coach is being lifted then the track will be cleared. Traffic is not affected because middle and down lines are operational.”
He further said that there is no obstruction to the movement of passenger trains and goods trains.
“The cause of the derailment would be done after enquiry. Now we are conducting restoration work. Our effort is that there should be no obstruction to the flow of traffic. This happened at 12.40 pm in the afternoon. We will check the safety by moving a train. The maintenance of this track is done regularly. The speed was only 30 km/hour. We have two more lines here, Middle line and Down line on which the traffic flow is normal,” he further added.
Restoration work is underway, team is on site. Train movement is not affected as this is a three-line section.
Earlier, the Railway Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Bhopal Division, Naval Agarwal said, “Three wagons of a goods train going from Bhopal to Itarsi, derailed between Misrod and Mandideep railway stations. Restoration work is underway, and the team is present on site.” (ANI)
