New Delhi [India], August 18 (ANI): A 22-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping an 11-year-old daughter of his tenant in Northeast Delhi’s Karawal Nagar area, police said.
The accused identified as Suraj was arrested on Saturday.
Earlier, police on Friday arrested the landlord who is the father of the accused.
Delhi Police said, “The girl lives with her family on rent. On the 13th, the landlord’s 22-year-old son, Suraj, raped the girl and when the girl’s family went to inform the landlord Kartar Singh, he instead threatened the girl’s family. Both accused Suraj and his father, Kartar Singh, have been arrested.”
This comes as there are nationwide strikes and protests by the medical community over the rape and murder of a postgraduate trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata on August 9. (ANI)
